AFL 22-06 Application period for PNW and WSW
CPDH has announced that SNFs can request a Patient Needs Waiver (PNW) and a Workforce Shortage Waiver (WSW) for FY 2022-2023 (7/1/22-6/30/23), which closes 4/1/2022. CDPH will not accept applications after 4/1. Access the new online application portal riskandsafety.com, as described in AFL 22-01. If a SNF anticipates submitting a PNW or WSW application, first register using the new platform.

The California Department of Health has issued an All Facilities Letter (AFL) announcing the application period for Skilled Nursing Facilities (SNFs) seeking Patient Needs Waivers (PNWs) and Workforce Shortage Waivers (WSWs) for fiscal year 2022-2023. The application filing period is open from January 1, 2022, through April 1, 2022. The previous platform, Adobe Exchange Manager, has been replaced by Risk & Safety Solutions (RSS) for submitting applications. SNFs must register on the new platform and submit applications no later than April 1, 2022. A confirmation email with a tracking ID will be sent upon submission. The list of approved facilities will be posted on the Centralized Program Flex Unit's website by July 30, 2022. For questions regarding applications, SNFs should contact CDPH at centralizedprogramflex@cdph.ca.gov and include the tracking ID in the email.
