The California Department of Public Health (CDPH) and the Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) have issued an All Facilities Letter announcing a stakeholder meeting on November 19, 2021, to discuss the reauthorization of the Quality and Accountability Supplemental Payment (QASP) program. The QASP program, set to sunset on December 31, 2022, aims to improve the quality of care in skilled nursing facilities (SNFs) by providing incentive payments to those that achieve specific quality benchmarks. The meeting will cover topics such as the staffing audit process, data sources, quality measures, and other considerations for program changes. The departments will collaborate with stakeholders to develop a successor supplemental payment or similar quality-based program. The meeting will be held via a Zoom webinar, and interested parties can register using the QASP Webinar Registration link. Questions and written comments can be submitted to LNCPolicy@cdph.ca.gov with "QASP stakeholder meeting" in the subject line.
