a. CPR and First Aid (schedule at least one employee who has CPR training and first aid training on duty and on the premises at all times)
b. Emergency and Disaster Preparedness (upon hire and annually thereafter, including staff responsibilities during an emergency or disaster)
c. Elder Abuse (DOJ training within 60 days of employment, provide written copy of reporting requirements and written notification of employee confidentiality rights.
d. Infection Control
e. Resident Personal Rights (initial and ongoing)
4. Direct Care Staff Who Assist Residents with Activities of Daily Living
a. Initial Training (40 hours: 20 initial (6 dementia care, 4 hours postural supports, restricted health conditions and hospice care, 8 general topics); 20 within first four weeks (6 dementia); 16 hands-on training; Topics as required
b. On The Job Training
c. Annual Training 20 hours (8 dementia care, 4 hours postural supports, restricted health conditions and hospice care; Topics as required
5. Direct Care Staff Who Assist Residents with Self-Administration of Medications
a. Initial Training 16 hours hands on shadowing prior to assisting with self-administration of medications; 8 hours within the first four weeks of employment
b. On The Job Training
c. Annual Training 8 hours on medication-related issues
6. Specialized Staff Assignment Training
a. Planned Activities
b. Food Service
c. Care of Bedridden Residents
d. Restricted Conditions
e. Managed Incontinence
f. Hospice Care of Terminally Ill
