Clearpol's Summary of this Guidance

The California Department of Social Services (CDSS) has issued a Provider Information Notice (PIN) in response to the Governor's Proclamation of a State of Emergency due to severe winter storms. The PIN grants the CDSS Director authority to waive licensing requirements for impacted adult and senior care facilities, child day care facilities, children's residential facilities, resource family homes, home care organizations, and similar care providers in specified counties. Waivers will be considered on a case-by-case basis and may include building and grounds requirements, personnel requirements, limitations on licenses, and payment of fees. Facilities must submit a written request for a waiver, providing sufficient information and documentation to support their request. Once a waiver expires or is terminated, all licensing requirements covered by the waiver are immediately reinstated.
