Clearpol's Summary of this Guidance

The California Department of Public Health (CDPH) has announced that new redesigned certificates will be issued to certified nurse assistants, home health aides, and certified hemodialysis technicians. These new certificates are being phased in as existing certificates expire, and the current design for all existing certificates remains valid until they expire. The new certificates are designed with special pressure seal stock paper and include several security features. CDPH recommends that certificate holders do not laminate their new certificates due to the security features. The department has also updated many of its applications and forms and advises all facilities and training programs to obtain the latest copies from the department's website. If nursing homes or other healthcare facilities have any questions, they can contact Michael Egstad, Chief, CNA/HHA/CHT Certification Unit at (916) 327-2445 or via email at cna@cdph.ca.gov.
