The California Department of Social Services (CDSS) has issued a new Provider Information Notice (PIN) 22-10-CCLD, updating the estimated Social Security Income (SSI) and State Supplementary Payment (SSP) payment standards for Non-Medical Out-of-Home Care (NMOHC) effective January 1, 2023. The total NMOHC payment standard is $1,492.82, which includes room and board, care and supervision, and personal and incidental needs allowance. This total payment standard is doubled for SSI/SSP couples. Recipients with additional income can be charged $1,324.82 for basic services plus an additional $20. Healthcare facilities, including nursing homes, must adhere to these new payment standards and update their admission agreements accordingly. Non-compliance may result in penalties or other consequences. Facilities should contact their local Regional Office for any questions or concerns.
