Clearpol's AI Summary
The California Department of Social Services (CDSS) has issued a new Provider Information Notice (PIN) allowing healthcare facilities, including nursing homes, to continue operating under existing COVID-19 waivers. This comes as a result of Governor Newsom's Executive Order N-11-22, which extends the CDSS' waiver authority. Facilities can operate under these waivers until the expiration date set by the CDSS or for the duration of the Governor's March 4, 2020, Proclamation of a State of Emergency, whichever occurs first. The PIN supersedes a previous notice and covers waivers related to visitation, staffing, training, and medical assessments. Some waivers, such as those for advance notice requirements and hot water temperature limits, have been rescinded. Facilities must reinstate licensing requirements once waivers expire or are rescinded. The CDSS will work with licensees to adjust and transition operations prior to the expiration of waiver authority.
