The revised AFL 21-08.7 letter introduces temporary adjustments to the return-to-work criteria for healthcare personnel (HCP) due to critical staffing shortages caused by the Omicron variant. From January 8, 2022, to February 1, 2022, asymptomatic HCPs who test positive for SARS-CoV-2 may return to work immediately without isolation and testing, and asymptomatic exposed HCPs may return to work without quarantine and testing. These HCPs must wear an N95 respirator for source control. This change supersedes the previous work restrictions and quarantine guidelines outlined in AFL 21-08.6.
