The California Department of Social Services (CDSS) has issued a new Provider Information Notice (PIN) outlining the updated Social Security Income (SSI) and State Supplementary Payment (SSP) payment standards for Non-Medical Out-of-Home Care (NMOHC) facilities, effective January 1, 2022. The total NMOHC payment standard is $1,365.77, which includes room and board ($590.77), care and supervision (maximum of $621.00), and a personal and incidental needs allowance (minimum of $154.00). The Evaluator Manual has been revised to incorporate these new standards. Healthcare facilities must adhere to these updated payment standards and may need to adjust their admission agreements accordingly. Non-compliance may result in penalties or other consequences. Facilities with questions about the new standards should contact their local Regional Office for assistance.
