The California Department of Public Health (CDPH) has issued a new All Facilities Letter (AFL) announcing that, effective August 16, 2021, the Centralized Applications Branch (CAB) will change the way it distributes certification correspondence to healthcare facilities. To increase efficiency and reduce the carbon footprint, CAB is implementing a paperless process for distributing healthcare facility certification correspondence. Starting August 16, 2021, CAB will replace the current practice of mailing hard copy certification correspondence with distributing correspondence as a PDF via email. The correspondence will be sent to the facility administrator using the facility's general contact email address reported to CDPH. If there is no general contact email on file, correspondence will be emailed to the licensee's email address as reported to CDPH. Facilities can update their contact information by emailing CAB@cdph.ca.gov. For any questions, facilities can contact CAB by phone at (916) 552-8632 or by email at CAB@cdph.ca.gov.
