The California Department of Public Health has issued a new All Facilities Letter requiring all Intermediate Care Facilities (ICFs) to report COVID-19 data daily via an online survey. This reporting is to ensure that California has the necessary information to respond to the COVID-19 outbreak and provide resources and support to facilities. Starting July 29, 2020, facilities must report COVID-19 data, including suspected and confirmed infections among clients and staff, supply of personal protective equipment, staff shortages, and other specified information. Facilities must also notify clients, their representatives, and families when there are COVID-19 positive clients or healthcare workers in the facility. The first report will be for cumulative data from January 1, 2020, to July 29, 2020, and subsequent daily reporting will be for new incidents from the last reporting date. Online submissions using the COVID-19 ICF Survey will replace daily reporting to CDPH district offices related to the specified information. Facilities should still notify their local Medical Health Operational Area Coordinator for PPE resource requests.
