The California Department of Public Health (CDPH) has issued an All Facilities Letter requiring all Skilled Nursing Facilities (SNFs) to report daily COVID-19 facility data through an online survey. This will help California respond to the COVID-19 outbreak and provide resources and support to SNFs. The SNFs must report COVID-19 data to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and notify residents, residents' representatives, and families of confirmed or suspected COVID-19 cases in the facility. A new process for accessing the COVID-19 SNF Survey will be implemented starting June 22, 2020. Non-compliance may result in federal and/or state enforcement actions, including fines. The CDPH will report to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services on behalf of SNFs that comply with daily reporting requirements and have conferred rights to the CDPH Group.
