The California Department of Public Health (CDPH) has issued an All Facilities Letter announcing changes to the application review process for healthcare facilities, effective January 1, 2020. The CDPH's Center for Health Care Quality (CHCQ) will now issue a single correction letter for incomplete or incorrect application packets and will not review them unless corrections are submitted within the specified timeframe. This change aims to streamline the application review process and reduce processing times. If applicants fail to submit corrections within the designated timeframe, their application may be deemed incomplete or denied for not meeting state or federal requirements. Non-compliant applications will be forwarded to the local district office for follow-up action. Denied applications can be appealed or resubmitted as a new application packet. The CHCQ has launched a website with resources to assist providers in submitting complete and correct application packets.
