The California Department of Health has issued an All Facilities Letter outlining the fiscal year 2017-2018 license renewal fees for healthcare facilities. These fees, effective from July 1, 2017, apply to nursing homes and other healthcare facilities. Licensees are responsible for obtaining a renewal notice, which will be sent 45-120 days prior to license expiration. Late payment penalties will be imposed on facilities that are delinquent in paying license renewal fees, with no grace period allowed. Medi-Cal offsets may be used to recoup license renewal fees and associated late payment penalties. Facilities are advised to validate the number of beds listed on the renewal fee page and follow the instructions for completing their license renewal. The department recommends using a trackable mailing method for payments and allowing 4-6 weeks for license processing.
