The California Department of Social Services (CDSS) has issued a new Provider Information Notice (PIN) announcing the end of the COVID-19 State of Emergency on February 28, 2023. As a result, the Community Care Licensing Division (CCLD) is resuming regular pre-emergency licensing reporting requirements starting March 1, 2023. Healthcare facilities, including nursing homes, will no longer be required to report individual positive COVID-19 cases but must continue to report outbreaks, including COVID-19 outbreaks, according to the applicable regulations. Licensees and providers should follow the strictest reporting requirements among different agencies, such as the CDC, CDPH, CDSS, and local health departments. In case of conflicts, they may contact their Regional Office for assistance. The CCLD appreciates the detailed COVID-19 related data provided by licensees during the pandemic.
