The California Department of Social Services (CDSS) has issued a Provider Information Notice (PIN) announcing an opportunity for Adult and Senior Care licensees to assist in providing additional beds by entering into contracts to temporarily house COVID-19 positive individuals. The PIN aims to address the urgent need for housing and care for adult and senior care residents who are COVID-19 positive but do not require hospitalization. Eligible facility types include Adult Residential Facilities, Residential Care Facilities for the Chronically Ill, Residential Care Facilities for the Elderly, and Social Rehabilitation Facilities. The contracted licensee will be responsible for providing appropriate housing, staffing, and required services to meet the individual's needs while placed in the licensee's care. The duration of the individual's stay is anticipated to be between 3-30 days. CDSS will pay licensees who enter into these contracts a daily all-inclusive rate of $1,000 for facilities licensed for six or fewer beds. The contract will commence upon agreement to terms and shall expire on September 1, 2020, or earlier upon written notice from CDSS.
