The California Department of Social Services (CDSS) has issued a new Provider Information Notice (PIN) requiring all Adult and Senior Care (ASC) facilities to submit a COVID-19 Mitigation Plan Report by January 24, 2021. The report must include plans for screening, testing, quarantine/isolation/cohorting, infection control lead person, personal protective equipment (PPE), staffing shortages, communication, and memory care (if applicable). A template for the report is provided by the CDSS. Facilities with an approved Local Health Department (LHD) Mitigation Plan can submit that plan to satisfy the requirement, but must also submit a memory care component if necessary. The CDSS will provide training on developing the report, and failure to submit or follow the plan may result in enforcement actions.
