The Texas Health and Human Services Commission has issued Information Letter No. 2022-39, requesting providers to support the "Don't Wait - Respond and Update!" information campaign in preparation for the end of continuous Medicaid coverage due to the COVID-19 public health emergency (PHE). The campaign aims to help individuals update their contact information, create a Your Texas Benefits account, and take early preventative action to ensure eligible individuals retain their services after continuous Medicaid coverage ends. Nursing homes and healthcare facilities are asked to communicate with Medicaid individuals they serve and incorporate campaign materials into their operations. Approximately 3.7 million Medicaid members will need to have their eligibility redetermined when continuous coverage ends, although the end date of the federal PHE is currently unknown. Providers may create their own materials or use the provided resources, and should follow the HHS Brand Guide for consistent messaging.
